Pre-Honors and Advanced Classes:
A Self-Select Model
While test scores are helpful in identifying which students will most likely be successful in advanced placement classes, there are many other factors, including student motivation and interest, that are just as important. A self-select model allows students the opportunity to choose to challenge themselves academically.
Please review the specific self-select criteria for Math and English Language Arts to decide which course pathway best fits your interests and needs. Test score levels are recommendations only.
Placements are made for the entire year. Exits from Advanced or Pre-Honors courses are not considered unless students have a grade of “F” at the quarter grading period.
